Automobiles in German City Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Officers mentioned they were alerted by a man who discovered a vehicle in Hanau marked with reddish substance

Approximately fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.

The substance had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.

Officers then found many other marked cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials report initial examinations indicate the fluid was most likely human blood.

"At present there remains no lead as to its source; investigators are currently not informed of any harm in connection with the event," they added.

Municipal representatives announced they were working "to resolve the case" and have requested to the community for details.

A senior official commented the incident made him without words and required to be resolved rapidly.

"This act hits the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the death of nine victims by a shooter aiming at residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
